Yui Ono (Done) Empty
PostSubject: Yui Ono (Done)   Yui Ono (Done) Icon_minitimeSat Jan 09, 2016 2:33 am

General Attire:
Secondary Outfit:

Name: Ono Yui (Surname, Given name)
Alias: Amy Pratt
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Height: 5'5'' (165 cm.)
Weight: 117 lbs. (53 kg.)

Personality
Attitude: Yui tends to be more quiet and reserved than others, but not due to any inherent shyness. She simply doesn't believe in talking just for the sake of talking. She prefers each of her words to have meaning, rather than simply being there to be heard, or fill the silence. She will respond to others when addressed, but rarely feels compelled to speak up without some form of prompting. Only when she believes what she has to say is truly important will she talk openly, and she will still try to keep her statements as neat and succinct as possible. This does not mean she is unfriendly though, she is very kind and generous on a whole, she just happens to be quiet. Yui does, however, make frequent use of gestures and body language to communicate her thoughts on a more regular basis. She is a generally happy and optimistic person, but can also be quite stubborn, usually refusing to listen to reason once she commits to a course of action. She has difficulty admitting when she's wrong, and usually attempts to ignore or deflect the topic when someone confronts her about something she said or did incorrectly. Slow to anger and quick to forgive, however, she isn't usually known to hold a grudge of any kind. One thing that is sure to get her talking is a good joke. She has a strong sense of humor, and is easy to crack up with even a simple but well-executed pun, at which point she is quite likely to start joking around as well. Once a joke becomes too mean-spirited, though, she distances herself from the situation as best as possible, or even confronts the person that's taking it too far.

  • To Friends: Yui is a bit more talkative around her friends, but not many people would even notice due to how uncommon it is for her to consider anyone a 'friend'. In fact, she is much more open with these individuals in general, more willing to talk, share ideas or secrets, etc. Other than that, she views her friends with the utmost respect, and will always stand up for them even if she personally thinks they are being silly. She may confront you later about how ridiculous you had been, but when it comes down to it she'll always be in her friend's corner.
  • To Allies: She doesn't view allies much different than her friends, as she was always taught that there was basically no difference. If you were an ally, then you were a friend. If you were a friend, then you were an ally as well. The primary difference is, in the case of temporary or little-known allies, she is much less open and trusting, basically treating them like anyone else, but she will still always have an ally's back, even if she can't be sure that they have hers.
  • To Foes: She tends to have a great level of mercy towards her foes, trying to avoid lethal or crippling strikes for as long as she can. If she can't get them to back down though, she will resort to any tactic necessary to defeat them, viewing every fight as a life or death encounter regardless of how serious it actually is. This behavior in combat often comes off as arrogant or patronizing, but she simply does not want to hurt people and knows full well that she is capable of it. She would much rather do as little harm as possible to win, but she isn't afraid of breaking a few bones when it becomes evident that the opponent will not back down. She gives frequent opportunities to withdraw from the fight. Her primary weakness in this area would be that she cannot accept loss herself. If she does lose, she can cope quite gracefully with it, but before she has actually lost, she will refuse to back down no matter the odds.
  • To Enemies: She treats enemies like constant foes. The fight doesn't necessarily end once the punching stops, after all. Once you have a constant enemy, the threat becomes constant, and will not cease until you neutralize the threat one way or another. She won't take it so far as killing someone outright, but she won't be dropping her guard around an enemy either. She will relentlessly seek out the first opportunity to solve whatever grief there is between herself and any enemy of hers, willing to go to great personal, financial, or even social extremes to solve the problem. She can't live her life always looking over her shoulder, after all. Of course, she's a bit naive in the sense that she believes fully that there is always a solution to every problem, and sometimes that's just not the case.

Likes:

  • Gemstones and other colorful, shiny things. Yui has a tendency to hoard such objects.
  • Origami; One of the many traditions taught to her by her family in Japan.
  • Jokes. Telling them or hearing them, good or bad, jokes are just the best.
  • Spicy, sour, or extremely sweet drinks and foods. She loves anything that stands out, or pops.

Dislikes:

  • Jokes that aren't even a little funny. She tends to find these offensive.
  • Hurting others. Not that she won't do it, but Yui really hates when she is pushed to hurting people.
  • Plain milk, water, anything that's very neutral. She tends to find these types of drink/food to be undesirable and bland.

Abilities
Tier: Fighter
Physical Level: 2
HP: 412
GP: 45
Martial Art Name: Kyukyoku-Do (The Ultimate Way).
Other Names: Kosa-ho no Sento (Cross-Method Combat).
Description: Kyukyokudo is a combat method that involves many features taken directly from both traditional ninjutsu and aikijutsu/aikido. The basic concept behind it is to combine the strengths of both the legendary samurai and the mythical shinobi, hopefully removing the weaknesses of both in the process. Each practitioner tends to focus on a different set of skills, developing them as they see fit, but in general their best stats are joint locks/grappling, open-handed strikes, and dodging. Still, they often prove to be quite adept at using their vast working knowledge of pressure points, their skill at countering, and their prowess with slashing weapons to great effect.

Major Specialties:

  • Joint locks
  • Dodging
  • Open-Handed Strikes

Minor Specialties:

  • Slashing
  • Pressure Points
  • Countering

History: Near the end of the sengoku era, a family of shinobi named the Tsukigawa Clan and an unknown family of samurai joined forces through matrimony. At the same time, the leaders of the clans' military forces decided to 'share notes', so to speak, trading ideas and techniques freely now that no secrets need be kept from each other. Soon they discovered that, with little effort, they could forge the two separate styles into one that would, in theory, surpass either of the others. In due time, the new shinobi forces adopted this reforged combat method, dubbing it 'the ultimate way'. Others who knew of its origins, or noticed the combination of stances and techniques, began to refer to it informally as Cross-Method Combat. The newly constructed clan took the name Ono, and began to dominate the shinobi underground with their brutally effective method of fighting. Today, it is one of the 10 most infamously efficient fighting methods in the underworld, though it is ranked differently by the individual opinion of each critic. All seem to agree, though, that it is quite impressive, even if it isn't that visually striking.

Moves:

Ido-te (The Moving Hand) - 3
Martial Art: Kyukyoku-do
Type: Open-Handed Strike
Description: The user strikes near the target's center of gravity, aiming to both cause a moderate sum of damage and shove them backwards, allowing for an opportunity to duck away, hide, or generally disengage. Can also be used to gain upper ground in a fight.

Oku no Te (Many Hands) - 3
Martial Art: Kyukyokudo
Type: Open-Handed Strike
Description: The user briefly takes up a grounded stance, before launching in a direction of their choice and attacking over and over with both hands, striking randomly at the designated target, in an attempt to overwhelm defenses.

Wrist Lock - 3
Martial Art: Kyukyoku-Do
Type: Joint Lock
Description: The user snatches the target's hand, placing their thumb and palm against the back of the target's hand, wrapping their fingers around the target's wrist and bending it forcefully, efficiently locking the joint and preventing much movement at all until the lock is broken.

Intercepting the Attack - 3
Martial Art: Kyukyoku-Do
Type: Open-Handed Strike + Counter + Dodge
Description: Upon detecting an attack, the user will quickly step out around the attack in order to dodge it, then launching an attack of their own past the attacking limb of the target. The attack is generally aimed towards the target's head or chest, but can be aimed at a lower target in certain cases.

Betsu no basho ni tatte (Standing in a different location) - 3
Martial Art: Kyukyoku-Do
Type: Dodge
Description: Aptly named, this simple dodge relies only on the user detecting an attack, determining it's path, and simply backing up or side-stepping to avoid being hit altogether.

Swift Avoidance 3
Martial Art: Kyukyoku-Do
Type: Dodge
Description: With this dodge, the user simply bends or spins out of the way of up to two basic-level or free-form attacks in a row, gracefully avoiding damage from either.

It is to be noted that Yui Ono took the option to PM a Moderator her History Info, in order to keep her background a relative secret.

That in mind: Everything seems to be in order.
